Sankalp, the theatre initiative of the students of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) celebrates 11 years of its inception in 2010. Sankalp is tradition and infact a way of life for theatre enthusiasts at MICA. It has given communication students a new canvas for expression & performance.
This year, Sankalp 2010 is all set to push the boundaries again. Expect a year marked by
innovation in theatre through street theatre, workshops, experimental plays – all culminating in a grand three-day theatre festival at MICA and the annual production at the Natrani amphitheatre on December 3rd, 4th and 5th. The attempt is to explore India’s rich tradition of communicating history, values and culture from generation to generation through stories under the theme, Storytelling.
Sankalp is an attempt at acknowledging the importance of theatre as an effective medium of communication and entertainment at the same time exposing the students to the nuances of creative conceptualization and execution. The entire event is managed extremely professionally by the students of MICA.
Slowly and steadily Sankalp has become MICA’s main interface and cultural connect with its home city – Ahmedabad. It promises to give Ahmedabad much to look forward to, through the year.
